James Stewart, star of Home and Away, and his partner, Sarah Roberts, a former co-star, have quietly divorced.
Roberts, 39, revealed that the couple had finalized their divorce five weeks prior, splitting up barely 4.5 years after getting married in July 2019.
She said to Stellar, “I just want to say that I am divorced.”
“This divorce path has shown me how crucial it is to connect with others who have gone through similar experiences and not to stay in the background.
I stayed hidden for a very long period.
“There were moments when I didn’t think there was a way out of these intense, complicated feelings I was experiencing, or I couldn’t see the light.”
“However, I’m hoping that by simply being honest with myself today, I’ll be able to free myself and possibly a lot of other people to be able to speak their truth.”
She continued by saying that they became less of a pair.
“I think that via marriage, two people can develop and learn from one another. It’s acceptable for people to simply grow apart at times, she remarked.
“I realized at some point that I couldn’t develop in this specific relationship the way I wanted to.”
Stewart has not yet spoken about the breakup.
After Roberts joined the cast of Home and Away in October 2017, the former couple got to know one another on the set. A year later, they confirmed their engagement.
Before, Stewart was engaged to Jessica Marais, his co-star on Packed to the Rafters, with whom he has a daughter named Scout.
‘Better man’
James has claimed in the past that becoming a father has improved him as a person.
In August 2023, he told Who magazine, “I’m way more protective and caring, kinder, more attentive, more involved and passionate about life.”
Above all, though, it has strengthened my love.
“I make it a point to tell Scout I love her every night at her bedtime. I see to it that she hears, “Daddy loves you.”
